Bay School Announces February Artist Spotlight Print E-mail
Written by Debbie Brown

During the month of February, the Bay School Community Arts Center  will exhibit a basketful of artwork from a local artist and teacher, Nina Eastman Buzby.  Nina (pronounced with a lone i) is a pine needle basket teacher.  Nina has been making and designing pine needle baskets in her spare time every since taking a class in March of 2003 at the Bay School.  In 2009 she began teaching on "Beginning Pine Needle Basketry" and is happy to encourage others to enjoy the craft as much as she does.

Nina_Buzby_2-12_4Nina will be teaching a class on Pine Needle Basketry on Thursday and Friday, March 8 & 9, from 10am-4pm.  Nina Buzby lives in Mathews VA on the banks of Buzzberry Cove.  Nina's works will be on exhibit at the Bay School from 2/1 through 2/29.

The Bay School is located at 279 Main Street in Mathews, VA.  The Bay School is a non-profit arts organization providing visual arts to all people partially funded by Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
